The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when exports increased by 32% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked in 2021 and is likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

In value terms, sleeping bag exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +5.2% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Exports by Country

China dominates exports structure, resulting at X units, which was approx. 82% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Bangladesh (X units) and India (X units), together making up a 13% share of total exports. Vietnam (X units) took a little share of total exports.

Exports from China increased at an average annual rate of +2.1% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Vietnam (+43.0%), Bangladesh (+20.3%) and India (+12.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Vietnam emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Asia-Pacific, with a CAGR of +43.0% from 2012-2021. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Bangladesh, Vietnam and India increased by +6.2, +2.5 and +2.5 percentage points, respectively.

In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest sleeping bag supplier in Asia-Pacific, comprising 79% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Bangladesh ($X), with a 9% share of total exports. It was followed by Vietnam, with a 5.5% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in China stood at +4.2%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Bangladesh (+20.0% per year) and Vietnam (+42.7% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In 2021, the export price in Asia-Pacific amounted to $X per unit, growing by 12% against the previous year. Over the last nine-year period, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.7%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 44% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2017 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($X per unit), while India ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+2.1%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

In 2021, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in overseas purchases of sleeping bags, when their volume increased by 43% to X units. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.6% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 20% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per unit, and then fell slightly in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was New Zealand ($X per unit), while India ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
