Over the period under review, consumption continues to indicate a pronounced decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the market value increased by 9.9%. Over the period under review, the market attained the maximum level at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, consumption stood at a somewhat lower figure.

China represented the largest exporter of stamps for use in the hand in Asia-Pacific, with the volume of exports amounting to X units, which was near 74% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Taiwan (Chinese) (X units), generating a 14% share of total exports. The following exporters - Vietnam (X units), South Korea (X units) and Japan (X units) - together made up 7.7% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to hand stamp exports from China stood at -2.1%. At the same time, Vietnam (+2.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Vietnam emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Asia-Pacific, with a CAGR of +2.8% from 2012-2022. South Korea experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest hand stamp supplier in Asia-Pacific, comprising 59% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Taiwan (Chinese) ($X), with a 16% share of total exports. It was followed by Vietnam, with a 7.5% share.

In China, hand stamp exports increased at an average annual rate of +3.5% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Taiwan (Chinese) (-3.0% per year) and Vietnam (+6.4% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Asia-Pacific stood at $X per unit in 2022, falling by -1.9% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.9%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the export price increased by 18% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2021, and then dropped in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($X per unit), while China ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+5.7%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, hand stamp imports in Asia-Pacific shrank to X units, waning by -5.3% compared with the previous year. Over the period under review, imports saw a perceptible setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 22% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, hand stamp imports shrank to $X in 2022. Overall, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 25% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

The purchases of the twelve major importers of stamps for use in the hand, namely Japan, Indonesia, South Korea, Australia, Vietnam, India, Malaysia, Thailand, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Hong Kong SAR and China, represented more than two-thirds of total import.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Pakistan (with a CAGR of +20.3%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Japan ($X), Australia ($X) and South Korea ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined 45% share of total imports. Vietnam, China, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Hong Kong SAR, India, Bangladesh and Pakistan lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 45%.

Bangladesh, with a CAGR of +12.8%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in Asia-Pacific stood at $X per unit in 2022, reducing by -4.5% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.8%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 12% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2021, and then fell slightly in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($X per unit), while Pakistan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Hong Kong SAR (+11.1%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
