The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +67.7% against 2018 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 42% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units, and then dropped in the following year.

In value terms, threshing machinery imports fell to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated moderate growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +40.8% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 36% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then contracted in the following year.

Nepal represented the major importing country with an import of around X units, which recorded 35% of total imports. Lao People's Democratic Republic (X units) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 14% share, followed by Thailand (7.9%), Pakistan (7.1%), China (5.7%) and Cambodia (4.5%). Indonesia (X units), India (X units), Democratic People's Republic of Korea (X units), Australia (X units), Vietnam (X units), Bangladesh (X units) and South Korea (X units) took a minor share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to threshing machinery imports into Nepal stood at +11.3%. At the same time, India (+36.7%), Pakistan (+33.9%), Lao People's Democratic Republic (+33.5%), Bangladesh (+25.9%), South Korea (+15.9%), Australia (+13.3%), Cambodia (+7.9%), Thailand (+2.6%) and China (+1.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, India emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Asia-Pacific, with a CAGR of +36.7% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Indonesia (-4.0%), Democratic People's Republic of Korea (-5.5%) and Vietnam (-8.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Nepal, Lao People's Democratic Republic, Pakistan, India and Bangladesh increased by +12, +12, +6.3, +3.5 and +1.5 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

The second position in the ranking was held by China ($X), with a 13% share of total imports. It was followed by Lao People's Democratic Republic, with a 7.5% share.

In Nepal, threshing machinery imports expanded at an average annual rate of +9.7% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: China (+5.7% per year) and Lao People's Democratic Republic (+20.4% per year).

In 2022, the import price in Asia-Pacific amounted to $X per unit, remaining stable against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded a perceptible decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the import price increased by 19%. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($X per unit), while Cambodia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
