Triticale Market Size in Asia-Pacific

In 2022, the Asia-Pacific triticale market decreased by -0.4% to $X for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Over the period under review, consumption continues to indicate a pronounced decline. Exports in Asia-Pacific

In 2022, overseas shipments of triticale decreased by -28.9% to X tons, falling for the fourth year in a row after two years of growth. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 1,356%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, triticale exports declined dramatically to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate strong growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 1,032%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

India was the largest exporter of triticale in Asia-Pacific, with the volume of exports resulting at X tons, which was near 73% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Australia (X tons), making up a 26% share of total exports.

Exports from India decreased at an average annual rate of -8.0% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Australia (+30.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. In 2022, the export price in Asia-Pacific amounted to $X per ton, which is down by -45.1% against the previous year. In general, the export price recorded a deep reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 106%. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Australia ($X per ton), while India totaled $X per ton.

In 2022, China (X tons) represented the largest importer of triticale, mixing up 84% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons), achieving a 14% share of total imports. Japan (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to triticale imports into China stood at +6.7%. At the same time, Taiwan (Chinese) (+21.4%) displayed positive paces of growth.
