The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 23%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X, and then contracted in the following year.
Exports by Country
China prevails in exports structure, accounting for X tons, which was approx. 81% of total exports in 2022. Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, followed by India (X tons). All these countries together held approx. 15% share of total exports.
China was also the fastest-growing in terms of the vices and clamps exports, with a CAGR of +3.6% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Taiwan (Chinese) (+1.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, India (-12.5%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of China (+21 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of India (-18.2 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest vices and clamps supplier in Asia-Pacific, comprising 66% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Taiwan (Chinese) ($X), with a 14% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in China stood at +6.7%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Taiwan (Chinese) (+2.1% per year) and India (-14.7% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Asia-Pacific stood at $X per ton in 2022, with an increase of 11% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.2%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Taiwan (Chinese) ($X per ton), while India ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+2.9%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

Imports in Asia-Pacific
In 2022, the amount of vices and clamps imported in Asia-Pacific dropped slightly to X tons, remaining stable against the previous year. In general, imports continue to indicate a slight reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 11%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, vices and clamps imports rose slightly to $X in 2022. Overall, imports showed a mild shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 9.8% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
Australia (X tons) and Japan (X tons) represented the key importers of vices and clamps in 2022, recording near 16% and 16% of total imports, respectively. Indonesia (X tons) ranks next in terms of the total imports with a 9.7% share, followed by Thailand (8.8%), the Philippines (6.5%), Malaysia (6%), South Korea (5.9%) and Singapore (4.9%). The following importers - India (X tons), New Zealand (X tons), Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons), Vietnam (X tons) and Cambodia (X tons) - together made up 17% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by Cambodia (with a CAGR of +14.1%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest vices and clamps importing markets in Asia-Pacific were Thailand ($X), Australia ($X) and Japan ($X), with a combined 48% share of total imports. Indonesia, South Korea, the Philippines, Singapore, India, New Zealand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Taiwan (Chinese) and Cambodia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 45%.
The Philippines, with a CAGR of +22.8%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in Asia-Pacific amounted to $X per ton, rising by 6% against the previous year. Overall, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when the import price increased by 15% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($X per ton), while Cambodia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Philippines (+15.4%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
