China prevails in exports structure, accounting for X units, which was near 80% of total exports in 2021. Hong Kong SAR (X units), Japan (X units), Taiwan (Chinese) (X units), Vietnam (X units), Thailand (X units) and Malaysia (X units) held a relatively small share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to video monitor exports from China stood at +5.3%. At the same time, Vietnam (+41.5%), Taiwan (Chinese) (+8.0%) and Thailand (+4.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Vietnam emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Asia-Pacific, with a CAGR of +41.5% from 2012-2021. Japan experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. In China, video monitor exports expanded at an average annual rate of +6.1% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Japan (-1.5% per year) and Vietnam (+40.3% per year).

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by the Philippines (with a CAGR of +20.9%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Japan ($X), South Korea ($X) and Australia ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, with a combined 44% share of total imports. Taiwan (Chinese), India, Hong Kong SAR, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 48%.
Indonesia, with a CAGR of +7.2%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Asia-Pacific stood at $X per unit in 2021, almost unchanged from the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 10%. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Australia ($X per unit), while the Philippines ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
