It was distantly followed by Turkey (X tons), Thailand (X tons), India (X tons) and Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons), together constituting a 27% share of total exports. The following exporters - Malaysia (X tons), Saudi Arabia (X tons), the United Arab Emirates (X tons) and South Korea (X tons) - together made up 12% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to plastic closure exports from China stood at +7.5%. At the same time, Taiwan (Chinese) (+10.8%), South Korea (+9.4%), Malaysia (+7.0%), Thailand (+6.9%), Turkey (+6.8%), Saudi Arabia (+5.0%), India (+4.3%) and the United Arab Emirates (+2.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Taiwan (Chinese) emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Asia, with a CAGR of +10.8% from 2012-2022. While the share of China (+6.3 p.p.) and Taiwan (Chinese) (+1.6 p.p.) increased significantly, the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest plastic closure supplier in Asia, comprising 64% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Turkey ($X), with a 6.8% share of total exports. It was followed by Thailand, with a 4.1% share.

In China, plastic closure exports expanded at an average annual rate of +9.8% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Turkey (+8.1% per year) and Thailand (+6.3% per year).

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 18% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, the largest plastic closure importing markets in Asia were Japan ($X), China ($X) and Turkey ($X), together accounting for 30% of total imports. Thailand, Indonesia, the United Arab Emirates, Vietnam, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, India, Israel, Malaysia and the Philippines lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 46%.

Among the main importing countries, Vietnam, with a CAGR of +13.4%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
