The following importers - the United Arab Emirates (X tons), China (X tons), Hong Kong SAR (X tons) and Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons) - together made up 13% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to preserved tomato imports into Japan stood at -1.0%. At the same time, Israel (+18.9%), China (+12.0%), South Korea (+7.2%), Hong Kong SAR (+4.2%) and the United Arab Emirates (+4.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Israel emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Asia, with a CAGR of +18.9% from 2012-2021. Saudi Arabia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Taiwan (Chinese) (-1.6%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Israel (+5 p.p.), South Korea (+3.9 p.p.) and China (+2.2 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Japan saw its share reduced by -12.7% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In Japan, preserved tomato imports plunged by an average annual rate of -1.4% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: South Korea (+7.3% per year) and Saudi Arabia (+4.7% per year).
