Over the period under review, exports showed a slight contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 106% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, aircraft propeller exports contracted to $X in 2022. In general, exports recorded a slight setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when exports increased by 23%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

The United Arab Emirates (X tons), China (X tons), Singapore (X tons), Thailand (X tons), Turkey (X tons), Indonesia (X tons), South Korea (X tons), Malaysia (X tons), Israel (X tons), India (X tons), Saudi Arabia (X tons) and Sri Lanka (X tons) represented roughly 87% of total exports in 2022.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the key exporting countries, was attained by Sri Lanka (with a CAGR of +67.5%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Singapore ($X) remains the largest aircraft propeller supplier in Asia, comprising 24% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Turkey ($X), with an 11% share of total exports. It was followed by Thailand, with an 11% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Singapore totaled -8.3%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Turkey (+26.7% per year) and Thailand (-1.2% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Asia stood at $X per ton in 2022, with an increase of 7.5% against the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 128%. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($X per ton), while Sri Lanka ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Imports in Asia
In 2022, aircraft propeller imports in Asia dropped rapidly to X tons, which is down by -71.3% on 2021. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate noticeable growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 439%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons, and then declined rapidly in the following year.
In value terms, aircraft propeller imports reduced remarkably to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a measured increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 235%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then fell significantly in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Indonesia (X tons) was the largest importer of propellers and rotors for civil non-powered aircraft, helicopters and aeroplanes, achieving 45% of total imports. Singapore (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Japan (X tons), South Korea (X tons), the United Arab Emirates (X tons) and Turkey (X tons). All these countries together held approx. 32% share of total imports. The following importers - Malaysia (X tons), China (X tons), Qatar (X tons), Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons) and Thailand (X tons) - together made up 13% of total imports.
Indonesia was also the fastest-growing in terms of the propellers and rotors for civil non-powered aircraft, helicopters and aeroplanes imports, with a CAGR of +18.0% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Turkey (+12.0%), the United Arab Emirates (+9.7%), Thailand (+8.7%), South Korea (+8.2%), Malaysia (+7.7%), China (+7.4%), Singapore (+3.7%) and Taiwan (Chinese) (+1.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, Japan (-1.6%) and Qatar (-2.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Indonesia (+31 p.p.), Turkey (+2.8 p.p.), the United Arab Emirates (+2.1 p.p.) and South Korea (+1.6 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Qatar and Japan saw its share reduced by -2.8% and -6.4% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Japan ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported propellers and rotors for civil non-powered aircraft, helicopters and aeroplanes in Asia, comprising 29% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Singapore ($X), with a 13% share of total imports. It was followed by South Korea, with an 11% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Japan was relatively modest. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Singapore (+4.8% per year) and South Korea (+10.9% per year).
