At the same time, the United Arab Emirates (+63.2%), Pakistan (+31.4%), Malaysia (+29.7%), Thailand (+12.1%), Singapore (+3.7%) and Nepal (+1.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the United Arab Emirates emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Asia, with a CAGR of +63.2% from 2012-2021. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Vietnam, Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates and Pakistan increased by +49, +4, +2.6 and +1.7 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Vietnam ($X) remains the largest rice bran supplier in Asia, comprising 79% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the United Arab Emirates ($X), with a 3.3% share of total exports. It was followed by Malaysia, with a 3.3% share.

China represented the main importer of rice bran in Asia, with the volume of imports amounting to X tons, which was near 64% of total imports in 2021. Turkey (X tons) took an 11% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Nepal (11%). India (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

China was also the fastest-growing in terms of the rice bran imports, with a CAGR of +69.9% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Nepal (+37.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Turkey experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, India (-19.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. In value terms, China ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported rice bran in Asia, comprising 77% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Turkey ($X), with an 8.4% share of total imports. It was followed by Nepal, with a 4.3% share.

In China, rice bran imports expanded at an average annual rate of +74.8% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Turkey (-0.6% per year) and Nepal (+41.9% per year).

Import Prices by Country
