The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 16%. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, non-reinforced rubber tubing exports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports saw a mild expansion. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

At the same time, Turkey (+12.2%), India (+8.9%) and South Korea (+5.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Turkey emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Asia, with a CAGR of +12.2% from 2012-2021. In value terms, China ($X), Japan ($X) and Thailand ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, with a combined 76% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Turkey, Malaysia, South Korea and India, which together accounted for a further 17%.

India, with a CAGR of +18.3%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Asia stood at $X per ton in 2021, rising by 7.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($X per ton), while Malaysia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+8.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, purchases abroad of rubber tubing not reinforced decreased by -3% to X tons, falling for the second consecutive year after four years of growth. Overall, imports continue to indicate a noticeable slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 7.5% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, non-reinforced rubber tubing imports rose notably to $X in 2021. In general, imports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when imports increased by 16%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
