In value terms, Turkey ($X), China ($X) and the Philippines ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, together comprising 85% of total imports. Iraq, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Taiwan (Chinese) lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 11%.

Kazakhstan, with a CAGR of +53.9%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the import price in Asia amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 1.5% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the import price increased by 37%. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
