Overall, exports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, copper sanitary ware exports soared to $X in 2021. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +2.0% over the period from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Exports by Country
In 2021, China (X tons) was the key exporter of sanitary ware and parts of copper, creating 66% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons), India (X tons) and Thailand (X tons), together making up a 32% share of total exports.
China was also the fastest-growing in terms of the sanitary ware and parts of copper exports, with a CAGR of +1.3% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Thailand (+1.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, Taiwan (Chinese) (-2.7%) and India (-5.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of China increased by +11 percentage points. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest copper sanitary ware supplier in Asia, comprising 66% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Taiwan (Chinese) ($X), with a 22% share of total exports. It was followed by India, with a 4.8% share.
In China, copper sanitary ware exports expanded at an average annual rate of +4.3% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Taiwan (Chinese) (+0.0% per year) and India (-3.9% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Asia stood at $X per ton in 2021, increasing by 16% against the previous year. Over the last nine-year period, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.7%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Taiwan (Chinese) ($X per ton), while India ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+3.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, after six years of decline, there was significant growth in supplies from abroad of sanitary ware and parts of copper, when their volume increased by 22% to X tons. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a mild descent. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, copper sanitary ware imports soared to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +2.0% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
The purchases of the four major importers of sanitary ware and parts of copper, namely Indonesia, the United Arab Emirates, India and Thailand, represented more than third of total import. Japan (X tons) took a 4.5% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Qatar (4.5%). Saudi Arabia (X tons), Singapore (X tons), China (X tons), Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons), Vietnam (X tons), Malaysia (X tons) and South Korea (X tons) held a minor share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Vietnam (with a CAGR of +19.2%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest copper sanitary ware importing markets in Asia were India ($X), China ($X) and Indonesia ($X), together accounting for 35% of total imports. The United Arab Emirates, Thailand, Japan, Singapore, Vietnam, Taiwan (Chinese), South Korea, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Malaysia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 46%.
Vietnam, with a CAGR of +22.2%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Asia stood at $X per ton in 2021, jumping by 19% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +3.4%. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was China ($X per ton), while Malaysia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
