There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($X per cubic meter), while Singapore ($X per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.

The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.8% from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 23% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X cubic meters in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, sawnwood (coniferous) imports amounted to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated a remarkable increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +49.1% against 2020 indices. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the largest sawnwood (coniferous) importing markets in Asia were China ($X), Japan ($X) and South Korea ($X), together accounting for 82% of total imports. Uzbekistan, India, Azerbaijan, Turkey and Kazakhstan lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 12%.
Azerbaijan, with a CAGR of +101.8%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Asia stood at $X per cubic meter in 2022, growing by 13% against the previous year. Import price indicated notable growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, sawnwood (coniferous) import price increased by +39.9% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 36% against the previous year. The level of import peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
