As a result, the exports reached the peak of X units. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, semiconductor thyristor exports declined remarkably to $X in 2022. In general, exports posted a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when exports increased by 45% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

China was the key exporting country with an export of around X units, which resulted at 61% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Hong Kong SAR (X units), Singapore (X units) and Japan (X units), together generating a 32% share of total exports. The following exporters - South Korea (X units) and Taiwan (Chinese) (X units) - each amounted to a 5.3% share of total exports.

Exports from China increased at an average annual rate of +8.3% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, South Korea (+26.1%), Singapore (+14.3%), Hong Kong SAR (+7.7%) and Taiwan (Chinese) (+7.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, South Korea emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Asia, with a CAGR of +26.1% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Japan (-3.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. China (+4.2 p.p.), Singapore (+3.6 p.p.) and South Korea (+2.2 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Japan saw its share reduced by -8.3% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest semiconductor thyristor supplier in Asia, comprising 55% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Hong Kong SAR ($X), with a 25% share of total exports. It was followed by Singapore, with a 6.7% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in China stood at +7.2%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Hong Kong SAR (+5.3% per year) and Singapore (+7.6% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Asia stood at $X per unit in 2022, falling by -23.5% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a perceptible curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 28%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2020 to 2022, the export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
