In value terms, Israel ($X), Singapore ($X) and China ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, with a combined 90% share of total exports.

Among the main exporting countries, Israel, with a CAGR of +12.4%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price in Asia stood at $X per ton in 2021, picking up by 1.7% against the previous year. Overall, the export price enjoyed resilient growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when the export price increased by 98%. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($X per ton), while Thailand ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Overall, imports recorded a abrupt decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 72% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, pyrotechnic articles imports shrank to $X in 2021. In general, imports showed a mild curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 31%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Afghanistan dominates imports structure, finishing at X tons, which was near 52% of total imports in 2021. Afghanistan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the signalling flares, rain rockets, fog signals and other pyrotechnic articles imports, with a CAGR of +70.3% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Taiwan (Chinese) (+15.1%), Japan (+8.6%), Turkey (+3.1%) and the United Arab Emirates (+2.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. In value terms, Afghanistan ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported signalling flares, rain rockets, fog signals and other pyrotechnic articles in Asia, comprising 35% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by the United Arab Emirates ($X), with a 12% share of total imports. It was followed by Singapore, with a 12% share.

In Afghanistan, pyrotechnic articles imports increased at an average annual rate of +51.2% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the United Arab Emirates (+3.2% per year) and Singapore (-3.5% per year).
