The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 27%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X, and then shrank in the following year.

China dominates exports structure, resulting at X units, which was approx. 78% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by India (X units), making up a 6.2% share of total exports. The following exporters - Indonesia (X units), South Korea (X units) and the Philippines (X units) - together made up 6.7% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to syringe exports from China stood at +10.7%. At the same time, Indonesia (+16.4%) and India (+11.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Indonesia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Asia, with a CAGR of +16.4% from 2012-2022. By contrast, South Korea (-6.2%) and the Philippines (-16.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of China, India and Indonesia increased by +23, +2 and +1.6 percentage points, respectively.

In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest syringe supplier in Asia, comprising 62% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by India ($X), with a 4.1% share of total exports. It was followed by the Philippines, with a 2.8% share.

In China, syringe exports increased at an average annual rate of +7.2% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: India (+10.0% per year) and the Philippines (-9.3% per year).

The export price in Asia stood at $X per thousand units in 2022, approximately reflecting the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.3% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 9%. The volume of import peaked in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the near future.

In value terms, syringe imports declined to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated a prominent increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +27.5% against 2018 indices. It was distantly followed by Japan (X units) and Thailand (X units), together mixing up a 12% share of total imports. South Korea (X units), Kazakhstan (X units), Uzbekistan (X units), Turkey (X units), Yemen (X units), Taiwan (Chinese) (X units), Singapore (X units), Indonesia (X units) and Iraq (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
