Imports into Vietnam increased at an average annual rate of +2.5% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+41.8%), China (+20.2%), Turkey (+18.3%), Saudi Arabia (+6.8%), the United Arab Emirates (+2.9%) and the Philippines (+1.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Asia, with a CAGR of +41.8% from 2012-2022. Kazakhstan experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Malaysia (-4.0%), Thailand (-5.5%), Afghanistan (-6.0%), Iraq (-6.2%) and Indonesia (-6.7%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, China and Turkey increased by +4.6, +3.7, +3.2, +3.1 and +3 percentage points, respectively.
