Kazakhstan was the main exporting country with an export of about X tons, which amounted to 60% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Turkey (X tons) and India (X tons), together creating a 40% share of total exports.
Kazakhstan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the triticale exports, with a CAGR of +415,511.1% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Turkey (+22.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, India (-8.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Kazakhstan (+60 p.p.) and India (+16 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Turkey saw its share reduced by -71.2% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.
In value terms, Turkey ($X), Kazakhstan ($X) and India ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, together accounting for 100% of total exports.
Kazakhstan, with a CAGR of +259,825.0%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the export price in Asia amounted to $X per ton, shrinking by -39.6% against the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded a perceptible curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the export price increased by 107% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($X per ton), while Kazakhstan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In 2022, supplies from abroad of triticale increased by 294% to X tons, rising for the second consecutive year after two years of decline. In general, imports posted a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 608% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
In value terms, triticale imports surged to $X in 2022. Overall, imports saw a significant increase. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
Georgia prevails in imports structure, accounting for X tons, which was approx. 82% of total imports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Azerbaijan (X tons) and Cyprus (X tons), together constituting a 12% share of total imports. China (X tons) and Kazakhstan (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Georgia was also the fastest-growing in terms of the triticale imports, with a CAGR of +74.8% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Cyprus (+16.3%), Kazakhstan (+15.4%) and China (+6.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, Azerbaijan (-18.5%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Georgia (+72 p.p.), Azerbaijan (+6 p.p.) and China (+2.6 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Kazakhstan and Cyprus saw its share reduced by -9.9% and -32.8% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.
In value terms, Georgia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported triticale in Asia, comprising 74% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Cyprus ($X), with a 9.9% share of total imports. It was followed by Azerbaijan, with a 5.1% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Georgia stood at +52.4%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Cyprus (+14.8% per year) and Azerbaijan (-12.3% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in Asia amounted to $X per ton, dropping by -21.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed a abrupt shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the import price increased by 213% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Cyprus ($X per ton), while Azerbaijan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
