Exports from China increased at an average annual rate of +11.1% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Turkey (+22.5%), South Korea (+15.8%), Japan (+8.4%) and Singapore (+7.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Turkey emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Asia, with a CAGR of +22.5% from 2012-2022. Taiwan (Chinese) experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. China (+6.4 p.p.), South Korea (+4.4 p.p.) and Turkey (+3.4 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Japan and Taiwan (Chinese) saw its share reduced by -2% and -9.3% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the largest vacuum pump supplying countries in Asia were Japan ($X), South Korea ($X) and China ($X), with a combined 85% share of total exports. Taiwan (Chinese), Singapore and Turkey lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 9.9%.

Turkey, with a CAGR of +17.0%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price in Asia stood at $X per unit in 2022, jumping by 16% against the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when the export price increased by 19% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($X per unit), while Turkey ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Taiwan (Chinese) (+10.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, purchases abroad of vacuum pumps increased by 16% to X units, rising for the second year in a row after two years of decline. Total imports indicated a strong expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.3% over the last decade. In value terms, China ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported vacuum pumps in Asia, comprising 40% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by South Korea ($X), with a 12% share of total imports. It was followed by Japan, with a 9.7% share.
