Vapour Generating Boiler Market Size in Asia

In 2021, the Asian vapour generating boiler market increased by 2.2% to $X for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Overall, consumption, however, showed a mild contraction. Over the period under review, the market reached the peak level at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, consumption failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, overseas shipments of vapour generating boilers were finally on the rise to reach X tons after two years of decline. Overall, exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 41% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, vapour generating boiler exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a perceptible slump. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

China represented the largest exporting country with an export of around X tons, which reached 65% of total exports. Turkey (X tons) took an 18% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by South Korea (5.9%) and India (5.3%). Japan (X tons) took a relatively small share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to vapour generating boiler exports from China stood at +3.6%. At the same time, Turkey (+14.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Turkey emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Asia, with a CAGR of +14.2% from 2012-2021. By contrast, South Korea (-8.6%), India (-9.2%) and Japan (-12.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of China and Turkey increased by +17 and +13 percentage points, respectively.

In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest vapour generating boiler supplier in Asia, comprising 56% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Turkey ($X), with a 17% share of total exports. It was followed by South Korea, with an 11% share.

In China, vapour generating boiler exports increased at an average annual rate of +1.9% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Turkey (+15.3% per year) and South Korea (-7.3% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In 2021, the export price in Asia amounted to $X per ton, growing by 6.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a perceptible shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 an increase of 22% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, purchases abroad of vapour generating boilers increased by 40% to X tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a perceptible decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 72% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, vapour generating boiler imports soared to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a noticeable decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 with an increase of 67% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

In 2021, Indonesia (X tons) and Bangladesh (X tons) represented the key importers of vapour generating boilers in Asia, together reaching approx. 35% of total imports. Uzbekistan (X tons) ranks next in terms of the total imports with a 9.1% share, followed by South Korea (8.7%), Turkey (8.5%) and Malaysia (5.9%). The following importers - the Philippines (X tons), Thailand (X tons), China (X tons), Cambodia (X tons), India (X tons), Iraq (X tons) and Vietnam (X tons) - together made up 19% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by Uzbekistan (with a CAGR of +28.0%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Turkey ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported vapour generating boilers in Asia, comprising 40% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Bangladesh ($X), with a 10% share of total imports. It was followed by South Korea, with an 8.3% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Turkey stood at +19.4%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Bangladesh (+18.1% per year) and South Korea (-5.3% per year).
