Variable Capacitor Market Size in Asia

The Asian variable capacitor market fell notably to $X in 2022, dropping by -46.7% against the previous year. In general, consumption showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The level of consumption peaked at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, consumption remained at a lower figure.

Malaysia, with a CAGR of +120.8%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price in Asia stood at $X per unit in 2022, surging by 14% against the previous year. In general, the export price recorded significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 159%. The level of export peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($X per unit), while Taiwan (Chinese) ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2020 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Singapore (+88.5%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Vietnam increased at an average annual rate of +1,226.9% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Iran (+2,390.7%), Taiwan (Chinese) (+12.9%), South Korea (+12.2%), Indonesia (+9.1%) and Malaysia (+2.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Iran emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Asia, with a CAGR of +2,390.7% from 2012-2022. China experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Vietnam, China, Iran and Taiwan (Chinese) increased by +42, +16, +7.2 and +6.6 percentage points, respectively.

In value terms, the largest variable capacitor importing markets in Asia were China ($X), Malaysia ($X) and South Korea ($X), together comprising 51% of total imports. Taiwan (Chinese), Indonesia, Vietnam and Iran lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 14%.

Vietnam, with a CAGR of +27.3%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the import price in Asia amounted to $X per unit, reducing by -24% against the previous year. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a abrupt slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when the import price increased by 15,150% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices reached the maximum at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($X per unit), while Iran ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
