In 2022, Jordan (X tons) represented the main exporter of vegetable puree, achieving 42% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Thailand (X tons), Saudi Arabia (X tons) and Malaysia (X tons), together making up a 27% share of total exports. The following exporters - Turkey (X tons), Syrian Arab Republic (X tons), Pakistan (X tons), Lebanon (X tons), Iran (X tons), the United Arab Emirates (X tons), India (X tons), Israel (X tons) and Armenia (X tons) - together made up 24% of total exports.
Exports from Jordan increased at an average annual rate of +33.7% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Armenia (+207.5%), Malaysia (+65.9%), Pakistan (+47.3%), Saudi Arabia (+19.6%), Iran (+11.2%), Syrian Arab Republic (+7.4%) and Israel (+1.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Armenia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Asia, with a CAGR of +207.5% from 2012-2022. The United Arab Emirates experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Turkey (-10.2%), Thailand (-13.5%), Lebanon (-22.4%) and India (-27.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Jordan (+41 p.p.), Saudi Arabia (+8 p.p.), Malaysia (+4.6 p.p.), Pakistan (+3 p.p.), Syrian Arab Republic (+2.5 p.p.), Iran (+2.1 p.p.) and Armenia (+1.6 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of Turkey (-2.6 p.p.), Lebanon (-16.3 p.p.), Thailand (-19.5 p.p.) and India (-25.6 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Jordan ($X), Thailand ($X) and Malaysia ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, together accounting for 71% of total exports. Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Israel, Lebanon, Iran, India, Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates, Syrian Arab Republic and Armenia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 18%.
Armenia, with a CAGR of +139.8%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Asia stood at $X per ton in 2022, surging by 4.6% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.5%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 13% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($X per ton), while Saudi Arabia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Jordan (+9.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Total imports indicated a perceptible increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 46% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by Cambodia (with a CAGR of +54.6%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X), Hong Kong SAR ($X) and Kuwait ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined 36% share of total imports. China, Yemen, the United Arab Emirates, Malaysia, Indonesia, Cyprus, Cambodia, Lebanon, Iraq and Oman lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 42%.
In terms of the main importing countries, Cambodia, with a CAGR of +52.2%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Asia stood at $X per ton in 2022, reducing by -12.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 27% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($X per ton), while Yemen ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
