In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest winche and capstan supplier in Asia, comprising 72% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Japan ($X), with a 5.6% share of total exports. It was followed by Taiwan (Chinese), with a 4.7% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in China amounted to +2.9%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Japan (-8.8% per year) and Taiwan (Chinese) (+5.7% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in Asia amounted to $X per unit, dropping by -7.5% against the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a slight reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when the export price increased by 157%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, winche and capstan imports expanded modestly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a deep reduction. The level of import peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Japan (X units), Turkey (X units), South Korea (X units) and Indonesia (X units) represented roughly 60% of total imports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Vietnam (X units), the United Arab Emirates (X units), Taiwan (Chinese) (X units) and Singapore (X units), together creating a 24% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by Turkey (with a CAGR of +11.9%), while imports for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.
In value terms, Turkey ($X), South Korea ($X) and Singapore ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, together comprising 28% of total imports.
Turkey, with a CAGR of +11.0%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Asia stood at $X per unit in 2021, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a perceptible curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 45%. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Singapore ($X per unit), while Indonesia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
