In 2022, New Zealand (X tons) represented the largest exporter of carboys, bottles and similar articles of plastics in Australia and Oceania, comprising 100% of total export.
New Zealand was also the fastest-growing in terms of the carboys, bottles and similar articles of plastics exports, with a CAGR of +122.2% from 2020 to 2022. The shares of the largest exporters remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, New Zealand ($X) also remains the largest plastic bottle supplier in Australia and Oceania.

In general, imports saw a significant expansion. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, plastic bottle imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Overall, imports recorded a significant increase. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
New Zealand was the key importer of carboys, bottles and similar articles of plastics in Australia and Oceania, with the volume of imports finishing at X tons, which was approx. 70% of total imports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Fiji (X tons) and French Polynesia (X tons), together constituting a 28% share of total imports.
New Zealand experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of imports of carboys, bottles and similar articles of plastics. At the same time, Fiji (+38.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Fiji emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Australia and Oceania, with a CAGR of +38.6% from 2020-2022. French Polynesia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. The import price in Australia and Oceania stood at $X per ton in 2022, growing by 313% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded significant growth. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was New Zealand ($X per ton), while Fiji ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2020 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Fiji (-7.9%).
