In 2022, overseas shipments of chain scoops, sliders, runners, end pieces and narrow strips decreased by -27.7% to X tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year rising trend. In general, exports, however, enjoyed a perceptible expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when exports increased by 512% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, chain scoops and sliders exports rose modestly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when exports increased by 369%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

Australia was the major importing country with an import of around X tons, which recorded 61% of total imports. New Zealand (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 32% share, followed by Fiji (4.6%).
