In value terms, crispbread, rusk and toasted bread exports declined slightly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a perceptible downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 94% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

New Zealand was the major exporting country with an export of about X tons, which accounted for 60% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Australia (X tons), making up a 39% share of total exports.

The export price in Australia and Oceania stood at $X per ton in 2022, declining by -11.6% against the previous year. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a pronounced curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the export price increased by 16% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Australia ($X per ton), while New Zealand stood at $X per ton.

Overall, imports showed a slight shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 12% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, crispbread, rusk and toasted bread imports reduced remarkably to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated a notable expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when imports increased by 24%. At the same time, Solomon Islands (+29.3%), New Caledonia (+11.2%) and French Polynesia (+4.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Solomon Islands emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Australia and Oceania, with a CAGR of +29.3% from 2012-2022. New Zealand experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. From 2012 to 2022, the share of New Caledonia, Solomon Islands and New Zealand increased by +5.2, +3.5 and +1.5 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Australia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported crispbread, rusks and toasted bread in Australia and Oceania, comprising 68% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by New Zealand ($X), with a 19% share of total imports. It was followed by New Caledonia, with a 6.3% share.
In Australia, crispbread, rusk and toasted bread imports increased at an average annual rate of +3.3% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: New Zealand (-1.2% per year) and New Caledonia (+10.5% per year).
