In 2021, shipments abroad of endless bands for machinery, of stainless steel increased by 660% to X square meters, rising for the second year in a row after two years of decline. In general, exports, however, faced a dramatic curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 6,574%. The volume of export peaked at X square meters in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, endless machinery band exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, showed a precipitous shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 6,458%. The level of export peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
New Zealand was the major exporting country with an export of about X square meters, which accounted for 72% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Australia (X square meters), constituting a 28% share of total exports.
New Zealand was also the fastest-growing in terms of the endless bands for machinery, of stainless steel exports, with a CAGR of +59.7% from 2012 to 2021. Australia (-30.6%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of New Zealand increased by +72 percentage points.
In value terms, Australia ($X) remains the largest endless machinery band supplier in Australia and Oceania, comprising 76% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by New Zealand ($X), with a 24% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Australia amounted to -25.8%.
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in Australia and Oceania amounted to $X per square meter, which is down by -51.9% against the previous year. Overall, the export price showed a perceptible decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 1,970% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per square meter in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Australia ($X per square meter), while New Zealand totaled $X per square meter.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Australia (+7.0%).

Imports in Australia and Oceania
Endless machinery band imports skyrocketed to X square meters in 2021, with an increase of 30% against 2020 figures. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when imports increased by 79% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X square meters in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, endless machinery band imports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 92%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
Imports by Country
Australia represented the main importing country with an import of about X square meters, which recorded 46% of total imports. New Zealand (X square meters) took the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Kiribati (X square meters), Samoa (X square meters) and Papua New Guinea (X square meters). All these countries together held near 49% share of total imports. Cook Islands (X square meters) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were in Kiribati (with a CAGR of +87.4%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Australia ($X), New Zealand ($X) and Papua New Guinea ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, together comprising 91% of total imports. Samoa, Kiribati and Cook Islands lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 7.8%.
Among the main importing countries, Kiribati, with a CAGR of +82.8%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Australia and Oceania stood at $X per square meter in 2021, which is down by -5.9% against the previous year. Import price indicated a strong expansion from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +7.9% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, endless machinery band import price increased by +22.9% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 106%. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per square meter in 2020, and then shrank in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Papua New Guinea ($X per square meter), while Cook Islands ($X per square meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Samoa (+15.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
