New Caledonia (X tons) and Australia (X tons) prevails in imports structure, together constituting 96% of total imports. New Zealand (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by New Caledonia (with a CAGR of +12.9%), while imports for the other leaders experienced a decline in the imports figures.

In value terms, Australia ($X), New Caledonia ($X) and New Zealand ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, together comprising 99% of total imports.

Among the main importing countries, New Caledonia, with a CAGR of +9.7%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.

Import Prices by Country

In 2021, the import price in Australia and Oceania amounted to $X per ton, rising by 15% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the import price increased by 60%. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
