In 2021, the amount of grinding, sanding and polishing machines exported in Australia and Oceania shrank to X units, declining by -7.7% compared with the year before. Exports from Australia decreased at an average annual rate of -13.3% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Fiji (+60.8%) and New Zealand (+6.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Fiji emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Australia and Oceania, with a CAGR of +60.8% from 2012-2021. While the share of Fiji (+11 p.p.) and New Zealand (+5.6 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of Australia (-13.9 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.
In value terms, Australia ($X) remains the largest grinding, sanding and polishing machine supplier in Australia and Oceania, comprising 79% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by New Zealand ($X), with a 17% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Australia stood at -12.6%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: New Zealand (+1.0% per year) and Fiji (+54.9% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Australia and Oceania stood at $X per unit in 2021, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when the export price increased by 117%. There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was New Zealand ($X per unit), while Fiji ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

Grinding, sanding and polishing machine imports soared to X units in 2021, jumping by 15% on 2020. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.6% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 31% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X units in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was New Zealand ($X per unit), while Samoa ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
