It was distantly followed by New Zealand (X tons), creating a 16% share of total exports. Fiji (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Australia ($X per ton), while Fiji ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Fiji (-1.3%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in purchases abroad of mattocks, picks, hoes and rakes, when their volume decreased by -12% to X tons. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a slight expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 37%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, mattocks and rakes imports declined to $X in 2022. Australia represented the largest importer of mattocks, picks, hoes and rakes in Australia and Oceania, with the volume of imports reaching X tons, which was near 67% of total imports in 2022. It was distantly followed by New Zealand (X tons) and Papua New Guinea (X tons), together comprising a 20% share of total imports. The following importers - Fiji (X tons), French Polynesia (X tons) and New Caledonia (X tons) - together made up 7.5% of total imports.
Australia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of imports of mattocks, picks, hoes and rakes. At the same time, New Caledonia (+16.6%), Fiji (+12.6%), New Zealand (+8.8%) and French Polynesia (+5.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, New Caledonia emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Australia and Oceania, with a CAGR of +16.6% from 2012-2022. Papua New Guinea experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. From 2012 to 2022, the share of New Zealand, Fiji and New Caledonia increased by +7.8, +2.1 and +1.5 percentage points, respectively.
