In 2022, Papua New Guinea (X tons) represented the major importer of meat of camels and other animals, mixing up 69% of total imports. Tonga (X tons) took a 17% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Samoa (5.6%). Australia (X tons) and French Polynesia (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to camel and other animal meat imports into Papua New Guinea stood at -9.0%. At the same time, Tonga (+56.4%) and Samoa (+21.7%) displayed positive paces of growth.
