In value terms, non-wheat flour imports shrank to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated a measured expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.9% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +61.8% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 20%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2020, and then declined in the following year.

In 2021, Australia (X tons) represented the main importer of non-wheat flours, generating 67% of total imports. It was distantly followed by New Zealand (X tons), making up a 23% share of total imports. Fiji (X tons), Solomon Islands (X tons) and Papua New Guinea (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to non-wheat flour imports into Australia stood at +2.7%. At the same time, Solomon Islands (+55.0%), Papua New Guinea (+36.2%), Fiji (+12.3%) and New Zealand (+2.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. In value terms, Australia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported non-wheat flours in Australia and Oceania, comprising 64% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by New Zealand ($X), with a 28% share of total imports. It was followed by Fiji, with a 2.5% share.
In Australia, non-wheat flour imports expanded at an average annual rate of +5.3% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: New Zealand (+3.4% per year) and Fiji (+1.9% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in Australia and Oceania amounted to $X per ton, which is down by -3.4% against the previous year.
