Exports in Australia and Oceania
In 2021, the amount of non-woven glass fibre webs, felts, mattresses and boards exported in Australia and Oceania surged to X tons, rising by 48% on the year before. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a noticeable shrinkage. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Australia prevails in exports structure, recording X tons, which was approx. 94% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by New Zealand (X tons), mixing up a 6.1% share of total exports.
Australia was also the fastest-growing in terms of the non-woven glass fibre webs, felts, mattresses and boards exports, with a CAGR of -4.4% from 2012 to 2021. New Zealand (-9.7%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Australia (+3.6 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of New Zealand (-3.7 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

Imports in Australia and Oceania
In 2021, purchases abroad of non-woven glass fibre webs, felts, mattresses and boards decreased by -6.6% to X tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate resilient growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 145% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, non-woven glass fibre articles imports expanded rapidly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a resilient expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 219% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, Australia (X tons) was the major importer of non-woven glass fibre webs, felts, mattresses and boards, constituting 77% of total imports. It was distantly followed by New Zealand (X tons), mixing up a 22% share of total imports.

New Zealand (-1.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. In 2021, the import price in Australia and Oceania amounted to $X per ton, jumping by 16% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a slight decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when the import price increased by 30%. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was New Zealand ($X per ton), while Australia stood at $X per ton.
