At the same time, Solomon Islands (+17.2%), Fiji (+1.9%) and New Zealand (+1.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. In value terms, Australia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported refined palm oil in Australia and Oceania, comprising 58% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by New Zealand ($X), with a 21% share of total imports. It was followed by Papua New Guinea, with a 13% share.
In Australia, refined palm oil imports remained relatively stable over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: New Zealand (+5.6% per year) and Papua New Guinea (-1.3% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in Australia and Oceania amounted to $X per ton, jumping by 23% against the previous year. Import price indicated a temperate expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.6% over the last decade. From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by New Zealand (+4.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
