The skim milk market in Australia and Oceania contracted to $X in 2021, leveling off at the previous year. In general, consumption, however, saw a abrupt contraction. In value terms, skim milk imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 54%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

Samoa represented the key importer of skim milk in Australia and Oceania, with the volume of imports accounting for X tons, which was approx. 54% of total imports in 2021. Guam (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Fiji (X tons) and Northern Mariana Islands (X tons). All these countries together held near 31% share of total imports. The following importers - New Caledonia (X tons), Australia (X tons) and American Samoa (X tons) - together made up 8.4% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to skim milk imports into Samoa stood at +8.8%. At the same time, Northern Mariana Islands (+19.2%), Guam (+17.0%) and Fiji (+1.4%) displayed positive paces of growth.
