The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +101.3% against 2016 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 33%. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Australia (X units) was the main importer of static converters, making up 80% of total imports. It was distantly followed by New Zealand (X units), generating a 13% share of total imports. Guam (X units) took a relatively small share of total imports.
Imports into Australia increased at an average annual rate of +7.8% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Guam (+54.9%) and New Zealand (+5.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Guam emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Australia and Oceania, with a CAGR of +54.9% from 2012-2021. In value terms, Australia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported static converters in Australia and Oceania, comprising 88% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by New Zealand ($X), with a 9.6% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Australia totaled +4.8%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: New Zealand (+9.1% per year) and Guam (+41.3% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in Australia and Oceania amounted to $X per unit, approximately mirroring the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a mild descent.
