In 2021, exports of sulphonamides in Australia and Oceania skyrocketed to X kg, rising by 437% compared with 2020. Overall, exports, however, showed a significant curtailment. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, Australia ($X) remains the largest sulphonamides supplier in Australia and Oceania, comprising 95% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by New Zealand ($X), with a 5% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Australia totaled -40.5%.

Export Prices by Country

In 2021, the export price in Australia and Oceania amounted to $X per ton, rising by 36% against the previous year. Export price indicated tangible growth from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.7% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. After two years of decline, overseas purchases of sulphonamides increased by 2.2% to X tons in 2021. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a deep downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 231%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, sulphonamides imports reduced sharply to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a drastic downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 242%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Australia was the key importing country with an import of about X tons, which recorded 68% of total imports. It was distantly followed by New Zealand (X tons), making up a 31% share of total imports.
