In 2022, the sulphur market in Australia and Oceania decreased by -34.8% to $X for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year rising trend. Overall, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 159%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons, and then declined dramatically in the following year.

In value terms, sulphur imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, posted perceptible growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 175%. The level of import peaked in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in years to come.
