New Zealand was also the fastest-growing in terms of the waferboards exports, with a CAGR of +24.5% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Australia (+11.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. From 2012 to 2021, the share of New Zealand increased by +12 percentage points.

Total imports indicated moderate growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.5% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Australia dominates imports structure, accounting for X cubic meters, which was near 78% of total imports in 2021. New Zealand (X cubic meters) took the second position in the ranking, followed by New Caledonia (X cubic meters). All these countries together took approx. 18% share of total imports. At the same time, New Zealand (+30.2%), Marshall Islands (+28.0%) and New Caledonia (+14.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, New Zealand emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Australia and Oceania, with a CAGR of +30.2% from 2012-2021. From 2012 to 2021, the share of New Zealand, New Caledonia and Marshall Islands increased by +8.6, +4.5 and +2.5 percentage points, respectively.
In value terms, Australia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported waferboards in Australia and Oceania, comprising 79% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by New Zealand ($X), with an 11% share of total imports. It was followed by New Caledonia, with a 5.9% share.
In Australia, waferboard imports increased at an average annual rate of +3.3% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: New Zealand (+26.5% per year) and New Caledonia (+7.8% per year).
