Overall, imports, however, faced a deep contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 114% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, coffee substitutes imports amounted to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a drastic downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 54%. Malaysia (X tons), Papua New Guinea (X tons) and the Philippines (X tons) were the main suppliers of coffee substitutes imports to Australia, together accounting for 52% of total imports.
