The Netherlands (X tons), the United States (X tons) and Hong Kong SAR (X tons) were the main destinations of frozen fish meat exports from Australia, together accounting for 93% of total exports. These countries were followed by Vanuatu, Vietnam, Papua New Guinea and Singapore, which together accounted for a further 6.8%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Vanuatu (with a CAGR of +27.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, supplies from abroad of frozen fish meat increased by 0.6% to X tons, rising for the second consecutive year after three years of decline. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 26%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, frozen fish meat imports dropped to $X in 2021. Overall, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 68%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, Vietnam (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of frozen fish meat to Australia, accounting for a 35% share of total imports. Moreover, frozen fish meat imports from Vietnam exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the United States (X tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was held by New Zealand (X tons), with a 14% share.

In 2021, the average frozen fish meat import price amounted to $X per ton, shrinking by -6.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed a noticeable setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average import price increased by 33% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton.
