In 2021, approx. X tons of granules, chippings and powder of marble were imported into Australia; almost unchanged from the year before. Over the period under review, imports, however, enjoyed a significant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when imports increased by 741% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, marble granules and powder imports soared to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, posted a significant increase.
