Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a mild setback. Imports peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, ketone and quinone imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, imports posted a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 50%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.
Imports by Country
Singapore (X tons), China (X tons) and Japan (X tons) were the main suppliers of ketone and quinone imports to Australia, together accounting for 72% of total imports. These countries were followed by Taiwan (Chinese), South Korea, South Africa, Brazil and India, which together accounted for a further 24%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Brazil (with a CAGR of +17.5%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
