Over the period under review, the total consumption indicated a noticeable increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.5% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, consumption increased by +72.1% against 2018 indices. New Zealand (X units) was the main destination for non-lawn mower exports from Australia, with a 65% share of total exports. Moreover, non-lawn mower exports to New Zealand exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, China (X units), sixfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by South Korea (X units), with an 8.8% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to New Zealand amounted to +1.9%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: China (+62.5% per year) and South Korea (+55.0% per year).
In value terms, New Zealand ($X) remains the key foreign market for non-lawn mowers and cutter bars exports from Australia, comprising 65% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by China ($X), with a 10% share of total exports. It was followed by South Korea, with an 8.8% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to New Zealand was relatively modest. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: China (+35.9% per year) and South Korea (+56.0% per year).

In 2021, overseas purchases of non-lawn mowers and cutter bars decreased by -15.3% to X units for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year rising trend. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 45%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, non-lawn mower imports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, total imports indicated a prominent expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.5% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +84.7% against 2018 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 46%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

The United States (X units), Germany (X units) and Canada (X units) were the main suppliers of non-lawn mower imports to Australia, with a combined 56% share of total imports. China, Austria, South Korea, France, Denmark and Italy lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 35%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Austria (with a CAGR of +24.3%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the United States ($X), Germany ($X) and Canada ($X) appeared to be the largest non-lawn mower suppliers to Australia, together accounting for 56% of total imports. These countries were followed by China, Austria, South Korea, France, Denmark and Italy, which together accounted for a further 35%.

In 2021, the average non-lawn mower import price amounted to $X per unit, jumping by 43% against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded noticeable growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 46% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the highest price was recorded for prices from the United States ($X per unit) and Italy ($X per unit), while the price for France ($X per unit) and China ($X per unit) were amongst the lowest.
