In value terms, natural sand imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, imports continue to indicate strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 109%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Greece (X tons), China (X tons) and New Zealand (X tons) were the main suppliers of natural sand imports to Australia, together comprising 85% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Greece (with a CAGR of +141.9%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
