In 2022, purchases abroad of poultry incubators and brooders decreased by -79.6% to X units for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year rising trend. Over the period under review, imports showed a deep setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 151%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, poultry incubator imports dropped sharply to $X in 2022. Overall, imports recorded a deep contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 288%. Imports peaked at $X in 2021, and then dropped sharply in the following year.

Belgium (X units), China (X units) and the UK (X units) were the main suppliers of poultry incubator imports to Australia, with a combined 73% share of total imports. Italy, South Korea, Malaysia and Germany lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 25%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Italy (with a CAGR of +43.1%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
