For the sixth year in a row, Austria recorded growth in supplies from abroad of aluminium casks, drums, cans, boxes and similar containers, which increased by 34% to X units in 2022. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 44% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports of attained the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, imports of aluminium casks, drums, cans, boxes and similar containers surged to $X in 2022. In general, imports enjoyed a resilient increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 48% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

Switzerland (X units), Germany (X units) and Italy (X units) were the main suppliers of imports of aluminium casks, drums, cans, boxes and similar containers to Austria, together accounting for 64% of total imports.
