For the third year in a row, the Austrian breathing appliances market recorded growth in sales value, which increased by 31% to $X in 2022. Overall, consumption enjoyed prominent growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 118% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Switzerland (X units), the Czech Republic (X units) and Germany (X units) were the main destinations of breathing appliances exports from Austria, with a combined 38% share of total exports. Slovenia, Hungary, Argentina, Qatar, Canada, Poland, Croatia, Denmark, the UK and Slovakia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 49%.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Canada (with a CAGR of +137.8%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
