Switzerland, Spain, North Macedonia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France and Bosnia and Herzegovina lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 35%.

In value terms, fresh beef carcase imports rose notably to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 17%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, Germany (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of fresh beef carcase to Austria, accounting for a 53% share of total imports. Moreover, fresh beef carcase imports from Germany exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the Netherlands (X tons), threefold. Poland (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 10% share.
